8-ball

So to start off, I'm going to have to apologize to the two people who may actually read this. I am a failure at the whole blog thing. Good news is, I just pulled an all nighter with my cousin and got a whole bunch of stuff done. We went out about 30 minutes ago to play hacky sack and were totally going off! Like for real..usually we play at night when the lighting isn't that well, but today we had full daylight, hardly any wind, and cloud coverage so it wasn't so hot. Between 6 hacky sacks, we managed to get over 20 hacks with all of them - which doesn't happen very often. Our previous record, about a year or two ago, was 31. Today we got 30 with one of them, and then set a new record of 34. Both records were set with my 8-ball hacky sack that I've had since the dawn of us hacking, so today is definitely a good day. That's all I've got to say for now tho, so we'll be seein' ya!

SXSW

SXSW was am-azing! Had such a great time!

Went out there Friday night for my best friend's 21st and had a few friends that neither of us had seen in a while. Got shwasted before we even left, then continued the party downtown. 6th street was LOADED with people and we just went bar hopping =]

My only regret about Friday is that I met this one girl at Vibe who picked me out of the crowd to dance with, and left without getting a number or even asking her to come along. That occurred because she and her friend walked off and, I assume left the bar. After thinking about it for a moment I bet they just went to the bar..oh well..

Then Saturday(last night) I went out with 3 of the original 5 that went Friday, and met up with the 4th(birthday boy) and 3 others. My brother and his fiance were out there for Explosions in the Sky, but she accidentally took a bunch of allergy medication and wasn't feeling up to par. Had another great night last night tho..saw some great music and met some cool people. My only regret about this night was that I wasn't a SXSW member, and couldn't see a lot of the bands I wanted to see..No matter tho. I had fun, and although my roommate had a badge and was able to see a lot of badass music, he wasn't 21 and couldn't enjoy the bar scene..

All in all my first SXSW experience was a blast and I got to experience it with some great people. Definitely gonna go back next year..Next is the reggae fest, then maybe a NIN and 311 show(seperate) and then it's Renaissance and ACL =]

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta!

Veintiuno

Ugh! So I just wrote this really long, detailed blog and tried to post it and there was an error..What's the point of automatic saving on this thing if it won't even bring it back if there's an error??

So to sum a couple things up, I haven't painted anything yet because I haven't quite figured out what I'm gonna do yet. Apartment Chronicles are going good, and the roomies are excited. Ideas are floating around and I'm coming up with a basis for what I want it to be about.

I also have another movie idea I've been working on that incorporates my home town of Hutto, and the changes it is undergoing from a country town to a suburb of Austin. That one, I think, is gonna be a horror/comedy. Apartment Chronicles mostly a comedy, but with a lot of music since it's mostly gonna be about the band I live with.

Apart from that, I've also been reading the Bible a lot more lately - instead of other books - and have made it up to Joshua so far. That may not sound like much since it's only the 6th book, but I'm making great progress, and once it's all said and done and I've read everything front to back, I think I'll be a new and improved person. =]

Also, I've been reading up on Chakras, and listening to people like Eckart Tolle and the Flowering of Human Consciousness. If you wanna check that stuff out, just search google for Chakras, or go to www.rickrichards.com.

Today is my best friend's birthday too, so Happy 21st buddy!

New(s)

So it's been a long time coming and I really have no excuse for not updating this blog, but I'm going to try my hardest to make more posts. So instead of catching you up to speed on what's been happening, let me just jump you up to NOW.

First off, yesterday was St. Patrick's Day, and my brother, his fiance, and I went to Canary Roost and Third Base for a few drinks. It was an all around good night I must say - even tho we didn't get to play shuffleboard..

My bestfriend is also in town from Iraq, and will be here until July when he's gotta go to Germany for two years. I also saw another good friend of mine who was in town before he's gotta go to Afganhistan.

Other than all that mingling, I've also recently purchased some acrylic paint and a couple canvases. In addition to my art, I've also decided to kick Apartment Chronicles back into full stride. And for those of you who don't know, A.C. is a short film I'm putting together for fun. So look for the new A.C., my new blog posts, and all the fun that comes to follow! Also stay positive, love your life, and try to have fun daily. =]

Solar Flare!

So again I haven't posted in a little while. Maybe I'll get better about it, but only two or so people read this anyway, so what's the big deal?!

Well I start school back up in just a few days. Wednesday to be exact. Gonna take one up at campus and the other two online, so wish me luck with all that. Also had another party last night and ended up playing some mad bass, so I've got a blisted on my right middle finger from plucking so much. Luckily I didn't get one on the index too or I really wouldn't be able to type.

Other than that we just got some new furniture in the apartment(2 couches) and I'll soon go to the store and get some more thumb tacs to hang some stuff up. So soon we'll be a fully functioning apartment again. I've also had some prospects in taking over the third bedroom, so after I figure out if we're going to renew the lease again I'll probably make arrangements to get it filled.

Currently I'm listening to music and may even watch a movie here in a bit. Don't really have anything else to report tho..one of my roommates just got a job today at Best Buy so him making money will relieve some of the stress off my back..just so long as he passes the piss test by Tuesday!

Welp..311's Solar Flare just came on so I gotta go rock out! Go listen to it on Myspace or Youtube or something..It'll brighten your day =]

Solitaire Unraveling

Alright, so I took a few days off for no particular reason, but I've been urged to write another one from Nina at work. Even though she hasn't even written her first post since the day she first told me about it. Tomorrow's the day though, tomorrow's the day.

So let's see..had a party last night..pretty good turn out I'd say. I was the only one here for like an hour or so until Vance showed up. Then he left to go pick up his guitar from Georgetown and I was home alone again! Not for long, however, as Brad pulled up pretty close thereafter. When Brad got here, there were 6 or so cop cars lined up infront of my apartment complex. Vance told me he saw like 3 or 4 when he pulled up, but apparently more had come since then. I went out back while Brad was parking in the garage, and noticed a woman was being arrested down the complex a bit. Another car coming to the party informed me that yet another man was arrested as well, so I don't know what the deal was. Not long after that everyone started to arrive and the party went on into the wee hours of the night. It's nice living with musicians because before you know it we've got the guitars, drums, maracas and other instruments going at full stride in a jam session. I brought my bass from my parents house last night too, so that was an added bonus. All in all it was a good time with good people. That's really all that matters =]

Tonight the band went to Music lab so I've been chillin here at the apartment ever since I got off work. I was thinking of going to my brothers, and maybe even going to my friend's birthday party, but I really didn't feel like drinking, and figured I'd probably end up calling my brother tomorrow anyway, so I chose to stay at home and enjoy the quietness. I was listening to music earlier, and even made a new Myspace playlist, but it's quiet now. Thinking mode..

I also decided that I'm gonna start drawing again, so that should be cool. School starts in 10 days, and I'm now the only person at my position at work, so I'll probably be pretty busy coming up. If not with school and work, definitely with other hobbies of mine. And I'm making time for them no matter what, because life isn't all about work. There must be an even balance in work and play to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Just like you need me time. And that's what I'm getting now..a time to express my thoughts in whatever manner I choose - whether it be this blog, writing in some other form such as poems or songs, putting it down on paper as some form of art, or simply creating a movie..I have all at my disposal, and I tend to utilize each to their potential.

So if I haven't lost you yet, what's going on in your life? What did you make as a new years resolution? Or simply what goals do you have in life? You remember from my last blog that you're not to live in the future, and to live in the now and not try and feel as if you need to be somewhere else, so how's that working out for you? Is there anything bothering you in life right now that, if lifted off your shoulders, would make life a lot easier? If so, what? And what can you do to overcome them? That's where my mindset's at right now..and that's how I try to live my life. "Stay positive and love your life." My life motto..and to do that, you've gotta relieve all the stress and negative energy. Try that for the next week and see how you feel this time next week. Also eat healthier..that's a big'n. Or eat period for some of you people out there. Plenty of fruit and veggies, that's what they say..

So to close, I just wanna let you all know that unless you saw the moon tonight you missed seeing it at its largest moment of '09. Also its brightest. It was closest to earth in its rotation if you couldn't figure it out by my description. So with that, I'm gonna turn back on the music and continue my night in solitude. Peace!

bLLooooo0000g

So I was thinking of creating another website since it had been a while since I'd done so, but a friend of mine from work convinced me to make a blog instead. And since my sister-in-law has one on this website as well, I decided a blog might be a good way to express my thoughts in a manner that Myspace or Facebook might not be able to accomplish.

Upon reading this blog you may be subject to random nonsense and lengthy paragraphs filled with tangents of free thought and free form. You'll receive some useful information in here as well though so maybe it won't be a complete waste of time in reading.

So what's up? It's been like 10 years since I had a blog. That was in the time of Livejournal and Xanga, when internet chat rooms were popular. It's kind of surreal sitting here trying to write down something for a blog that will only be viewed by those that I tell. Assuming I tell anyone at all..Muahahaha!!

But seriously..It's like one in the morning and my iTunes is on shuffle. I just got done a few days ago in putting all my cds back on my computer. I first put all my music on the laptop when I bought my iPod. Then, a couple years later, my laptop crashed and I lost about 80% of it. This time I put it all on my external harddrive. Then I'm gonna back it all up on Dvd-R's so that I won't have to ever do that again! Point being, I have over 11,000 songs and rising. Great to have it all in one place again though. It'll be a good mix for upcoming parties, especially since I have the laptop hooked up to the surround sound in my room.

Time to start things anew though. It's the beginning of a new year, beginning of a new blog, and the start of a new age. The Aquarian Age. The age for a new President, a future ever-changing and ever-so-eminent. Dropping economy, wars overseas, bailouts, and layoffs, it's about time for something big to come. The world is due to end in 2012, and might not even last 'til then if we're not careful. So being an Aquarian, I'm stepping up to make a difference. To lead the revolution into the Aquarian Age, out of that of Pisces, and past that of 2012. This is my voice. Hear me roar!
